Tra best of (con Police o senza), riarrangiamenti vari e tour conseguenti, Mr. Gordon Sumner negli ultimi anni sta cercando in tutti i modi di fare cassa... beh, però le canzoni quelle sono sempre bellissime
L'ultima raccolta "Sting: The Best of 25 Years" riguarda solo la carriera solista e schiera assieme a grandi successi 3 track live mai pubblicate prima. Come a dire: se ancora non avete nella vostra discografia un album con tutti suoi pezzi migliori, questo è il momento!
Il best è disponibile anche in versione deluxe con due cd o addirittura, per collezionisti o chi volesse farsi una scorpacciata, box set contenente 3 cd, DVD e libretto fotografico 
Pochi giorni fa l'artista, che nutre un amore particolare per il nostro paese, si è presentato da Fabio Fazio per promuovere il disco, cantando qualche pezzo con una voce che sembrava un pò raffreddata devo dire...

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz (2/10/1949) è una celebre fotografa ritrattista, conosciuta principalmente per le sue istantanee che ritraggono star della musica e del cinema ma anche protagonisti della politica (come Barack Obama e perfino la regina Elisabetta) e appartenenti al mondo dello spettacolo a tutto tondo che le piace proporre sempre in maniera originale e d'effetto. L'artista americana ha iniziato come capo redattore fotografico di Rolling Stone, lavorando in seguito per Vanity Fair e Vogue ed è attualmente attiva.

"LA" Foto: John e Yoko immortalati in questo meraviglioso e tenero abbraccio. Ironia della sorte, lo scatto fu catturato proprio poche ore prima della morte di John Lennon, ucciso mentre usciva di casa da Mark Chapman, un suo fan squilibrato.
Quando vide la fotografia John disse che rappresentava alla perfezione la relazione tra lui e Yoko Ono

So romantic...
Questo brano mi fa sognare ad occhi aperti quando l'ascolto; lo vedrei perfetto per un matrimonio. Magari prima o poi qualcuno me lo dedicasse! ... maschietti siete avvisati!

Ho avuto la fortuna di ascoltarlo dal vivo il 3/11 un anno fa, concerto di Sting a Torino con Royal Philarmonic Orchestra al seguito, come testimonia questa foto


Credo di poter dire che è stato uno dei migliori concerti cui abbia assistito.
Qui eravamo quasi sotto il palco, verso la fine; ma poi sono arrivata proprio davanti ed ero a meno di un metro da Sting... la tentazione di lanciarmici adosso era forte, che vi posso dire, visto da vicino quest uomo ha davvero charme!
Sfortunatamente le macchine fotografiche (ipersfruttate x tutti e 3 i giorni del viaggio) avevano già dato forfait da un pezzo. Quando si dice sfortuna...
