il ventaglio di piume

Questa notizia la dò davvero con la morte nel cuore... i Versailles sono una band rispettabilissima dal punto di vista musicale, e tra le poche band giapponesi che seguo...

Ebbene, pare proprio che si scioglieranno!

A poco meno di sei anni dalla nascita del gruppo - in mezzo, voglio ricordarlo:  3 bellissimi cd, la morte di uno dei membri e un grande successo anche al di fuori del loro paese (cosa rara per un gruppo giapponese) - hanno annunciato l'imminente pubblicazione di un nuovo lavoro, dopo il quale si prenderanno una pausa a tempo indeterminato, per poi dedicarsi alle carriere soliste o ad altri progetti. 

Questo non mi sembra affatto strano, considerando che i Versailles sono l'equivalente di quello che in musica si definisce un "supergruppo", vale a dire che i componenti provengono a loro volta da differenti band già affermate.

Tuttavia, dato che si è parlato di "pausa a tempo indeterminato" e visto che di questi tempi le reunion vanno così di moda, la speranza è l'ultima a morire! 

A dicembre prossimo si esibiranno in un concerto di addio alla NHK Hall di Tokyo, il che significa che un nuovo tour non è probabile. Se così fosse significherebbe che il live a cui ho avuto la fortuna di assistere, il primo fatto sinora in Italia, rimarrebbe un evento unico (ne ho già parlato qui).
Non resta che consolarci con Versailles: uscito il 26 settembre, contiene "ROSE", il singolo che avevano pubblicato per il loro quinto anniversario, e sin dalla copertina preannuncia un'uscita di scena trionfale, con i membri della band impegnati in un'ipotetica ultima cena. Questo disco porta il loro nome e c'è da sperare che sia un compendio di tutto ciò che ha caratterizzato la loro musica sinora.
Dopodiché i Versailles fanno calare il sipario.
